About the Event
IRMA has been involved in a continuous dialogue with partners over the last decade to evolve a collaborative ecosystem for farmer producer organisations. This has been through regular state and national level events since 2016. More details of our FPO journey and some of our conferences and publications is available on our website. Recently, in collaboration with many partners across India, brought out a unique volume of fifteen detailed FPO case studies " Farming Futures: Reimagining Producer Organisations in India" published by Routledge. Of the fifteen case studies of FPOs, two of the chapters, including the Krushidhan FPO in Gujarat, are available for open access. We are keen to use the findings from the case studies and the book to inform the ongoing FPO practice and theory in the country and we have organised a few online discussions with the editors and the case authors.
In collaboration with NABARD we plan to have a state level workshop where the findings of the book can be shared and various stakeholders involved in building the FPO ecosystem are invited for a discussion at the Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA) on 9th August 2023 . The state-level convention is a step that can build on the ideas of ‘ease of doing business’, ‘ease of accessing capital’, ‘better capacity building and utilisation’ and ‘inclusivity’, that came out of the book.
