The Institution Building Challenge: National Workshop on FPOs
About the workshop
This national workshop focused on institution building challenges of Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) is a continuation of IRMA’s efforts in three areas: building knowledge on contemporary FPOs, building capacities, and co-creating an enabling ecosystem.
The workshop was jointly supported by projects to IRMA from Ford Foundation ("Living Farm Incomes: Inequality, Sustainability and Civic Action in India") and from the Department of Science and Technology (DST) (under the project “Creating a Social Entrepreneurial Ecosystem through the Incubator”)

Spread over a day and six sessions with over 10 different speakers, the national workshop saw a rich set of discussions on what was required to strengthen farmer collectives in terms of training, institution building, and policies. This section provides a glimpse into the speaker profiles and the ideas that they shared during the workshop.
